Series opens with talk on Children & Interracial Friendships
Thursday, Sept 30 at 7 p.m. in the Hillcrest School Auditorium
Hillcrest School has planned a series of lectures, discussions and film screenings based on the ideas raised in Nurture Shock, the thought-provoking 2009 book by Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman that examines recent—and sometimes counter-intuitive—research on child rearing. The Peralta Parent Teacher Group is a sponsor for the series, and Peralta families are invited to attend. The lectures take place on alternating Tuesday and Thursday evenings through February at Hillcrest School, and include such topics as interracial friendships, relational bullying, lying, praise, siblings, and teen rebellion.
